Join London Drawing Group this June as we embark on a unique six week drawing journey through the world of South Korean Artist, Lee Bul at the Hayward Gallery. “Lee Bul: Crashing” is an exhibition that spans over thirty years of Buls prestigious career, with works that explore a seemingly never-ending span of subjects; from the nature of the body, biomorphic forms, our experience of the world, to science fiction, utopias and dreams.
For this one-off course, LDG is teaming up with the newly refurbished Hayward Gallery to offer a unique opportunity to explore the gallery after-hours over the course of six sessions spread over six weeks, responding to the exhibition through the medium of drawing. Week by week we will focus on a different theme within the exhibition, investigating a range of aspects of Bul’s oeuvre.
Throughout the course students will be encouraged to respond to the exhibition in their own unique voice, each week’s drawing exercises building on and complementing the last, taking students on an artistic journey through Figure, Landscape, Structure and Texture, with a final week dedicated to self-directed study as the culmination of the course. The last week will also include group and personalized crits with the LDG tutors.
